Hello friend!
I’m Heather! Momma, photographer, designer, lover of oversized everything, texas girl at heart.
I was born to a family of artists. My father was a marine biologist by day and an actor by night. My mother was an art teacher, actress, and costume designer. They were always involved in wildly artistic endeavors and us kids were along for the ride.
I grew up encouraged to dress myself (usually my choice was a tutu, pajamas, and cowgirl boots) and to express myself creatively in all aspects of my life. My parents and grandmother always told me that I could do anything I set out to do; and I believed them.
After graduating from the University of Texas, I set out to become an actress in Los Angeles. I worked hard as a stunt actress and body doubled for many wonderful, well-known artists. I became fascinated with all aspects that made up that perfect shot in your favorite movie – the light, the facial expressions, the tiny details that made the audience say, “wow.”
I came back to Texas and decided to put myself on the other side of the lens and began experimenting with directing and photography. It wasn’t until I had my son that I decided to make my passion a career. Now, as a mother, I love to capture the world through their eyes. .
A Walking Heart
A lot of people ask me how I got my business name. It actually came from a quote that greatly impacted me once I had my son: “Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body. ~ Emma Stone”
The images I capture are just hearts walking around-someone’s son, someone’s daughter, someone’s soulmate…these are special moments in time that I have the privilege to capture.
Finding joy in every day
It is such a privilege to be an invited guest to people’s most special moments. A birth, a marriage, a giggle, a glance…a moment they will cherish forever. I get so excited when I capture the perfect light or the perfect moment between people. As I enter my sixth year as a professional photographer, I only love my job more. In our sessions, you will notice my “photography ADD,” jumping around when I get inspired by you and our surroundings. My clients fuel my love for my job and I am so thankful for all of you!
